Why Run?

"Why RUN?" you ask. I say, "why not?" The truth is that I don't have the patience to walk, the courage to bike, the skill to swim, and the awareness to hike. This leaves me with running.

Here are the top 10 reasons why I run:

10. I run to get away from life's problems
9. I run to relieve my stress
8. I run to improve my health
7. I run to empower myself
6. I run to remind myself that my legs and body are strong and capable
5. I run to experience the euphoria or "runner's high" that lifts my spirit
4. I run to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful scenery
3. I run to be surrounded and inspired by like-minded people
2. I run to experience the comaraderie and support I get from other runners

And the #1 reason why I run...
1. I run to fulfill my spirit of volunteerism by contributing to society. I run for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT).

I've been training with TNT since 2006. I am racing to save lives one step at a time and am running in honor of all individuals who are battling cancer.

Running is my passion. It fulfills my competitive nature, my fitness needs, and my spritiual being. Most importantly, it feeds my soul.

Why do I run? Because I love it!

"Once you decide to invest even a small portion of the blessings God has given you into the lives of others, you'll find the seed of something powerful sown into your own soul. And someday, in the midst of gving yourself in the spirit and act of colunteerism, that seed will blossom into the amazing realization that this is what you were made for!" ~Bill Hybels
